2.5 Level 1 Theory (3/3) – Minimum Output and Criteria
2.5.1 Minimum report output for Level 1
The main results to evaluate and report for a Level 1 analysis are:

                                      Weld Line (Angle and
Melt Front Time Air Trap Commented [AB13]: Put back in table (Anthony)
                                      Temperature)
Gate Contribution Cavity Temperature Shear Stress

Cavity Pressure Sprue Pressure Curve Flow Rate Curve

            2.5.2 Checking criteria
For every analysis, there are a series of questions to ask, which will help to ensure that the results are
            looked at completely:
2.5.2.1 Will the part fill completely?
It is important to ensure that the part fills out completely. If the part does not fill out, then there is no
reason to look at the remainder of the results, as a partially filled cavity, or short shot, will skew the results
for the remainder of the analysis interpretation.
            For this question, look at:
               • Melt Front Time – Look to see if the cavity is fully filled. A partially filled part will have a discolored
                 section.
