Glittering in Trivial Everyday Life
Kim works in photography alongside installation tapping into sculp-
tures like “a spangle woman” in order to attain both reality and
imagination. She works based on the expanded concept of pho-
tography. An anonymous object referred to as “I” or “you” is com-
pleted through a repetition of manual labor over a long period of
time, thereby showcasing the world “she” or “we” belong to. The
everyday she displays is like a time peculiar to her own life. When
viewing trifling quotidian aspects in her works, we may feel some
serenity in daily life.
