we “bend over backwards” trying to be
liked and accepted by everyone. But being
overly congenial and accommodating in our
relationships with people is not an accurate
reflection of the character and holiness of
God — because, according to Psalm 5:4, God
is not a God that has pleasure in wickedness,
and Psalm 7:11 says, “God judgeth the
righteous, and God is angry with the wicked
every day.” Our responsibility as Christians is
to also convey our displeasure with sin and
wickedness, either verbally or by our
demeanor — and even in family life — which
will more than likely label us as unloving,
hateful, judgmental, and/or pharisaical rather
than “loved by everyone” as is so often read
