Upselling
Good, Better, Best
Many of the product categories we offer, including TVs and computers, can be
classified into three major tiers of quality: Good, Better, and Best. When upselling, it’s
important to understand what represents Good, Better, or Best, and how products are
categorized as such.
Tiers Of Quality
Good: These items will have basic features at the lowest cost. They could be the
best option for customers with limited resources, space constraints and for those
who don’t need all the bells and whistles. WELCOME & ORIENTATION / TRAINING ROADMAP
Better: Items in this category are most often built with newer technologies and
additional features, which provide more benefits to the customer. Usually, these
items are longer lasting and better performing than those in the Good category.
Best: This category houses merchandise that is built to the highest standards and
has the most advanced designs and features. Usually Best merchandise is
top-of-the line at a higher price point.
As the product expert, it’s your responsibility to provide enough information for the
customer so they can make an informed decision. That said, it’s imperative to direct
customers to the product that best fits their needs, whether it’s Good, Better, or
Best. But how?
