A negative impression will cause a customer
who needs our products and services to
leave quietly and go down the street to the
competition.
Here are a few simple guidelines when
greeting customers in the store:
• Greet the customer between 3-10 seconds
after they enter the store. If you greet
them too quickly, they will surely be put
off. If you wait too long, they will feel
anxious and unwelcome.
• The greeting should be in good taste and
comfortable to you and the customer.
• If two or more customers enter the store CUSTOMER SERVICE / GREETING A CUSTOMER IN THE STORE
simultaneously, greet all of them.
• If everyone is busy when customers enter
the store, acknowledge them and let
them know you will be with them in a few
moments. Say, "Welcome to
Rent-A-Center... I'll be right with you."
• When approaching the customer in the
store, be respectful of the customer’s
personal space.
