Views of Life

The Dayak Bakati view of life assumes that the life process is indeed determined by Jubata.
Every activity in the life of the Dayak Bakati community has been regulated by Jubata. Jubata as
a determinant of life for the Dayak Bakati community means that it is God who determines this
life. The life attitude of the Dayak Bakati is a daily habit which is reflected in the actions of the
community, a good attitude or a bad attitude reflected by the Dayak Bakati community has indeed
been determined by Jubata and is based on the community's belief that there is a single and eternal
power that governs the life process for the Dayak community. Talent.

               Relationships Between Humans

An important element in the social organization of the Dayak community is the forest
symbolized by the hornbill which further symbolizes the "higher" world. Something "above" or
"higher" in the Dayak community is something very important. The second important thing is
symbolized by the dragon which is the embodiment of power or power based on mythology in
Dayak and Chinese culture. That is the power of the dragon that presents the social organization
of the Dayak community and which is located in the "underworld" a potential that is "lower" than
the position of the forest or hornbill in the socio-economic life of the Dayak community.
The higher position of hornbills compared to dragons is a manifestation not only of the
philosophical fact about the existence of the main economic source of rural communities, the forest
and all its contents, which is symbolized by the existence of hornbills, but also of the concrete and
real fact that forests are the main basis of social life. , economy, culture and politics of the Dayak

                                                                                                         144
