COMMAND your leadership presence with Next Steps
● As a part of this mindfulness practice in pursuing your next steps and becoming more self-aware, look for
opportunities to confide in trusted people in your life. Ask them to provide insight as to how they
experience you on a good day and bad day.
● Consider self-assessment tools to help you learn more about yourself. For example: Strengthsfinder 2.0 by
Tom Rath, a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality assessment, a DiSC assessment, an Emotional
Intelligence assessment, a Leadership Practices Inventory (see appendix for resources)
● Hire a coach or therapist outside of your work environment. When you work with an outside source, their
feedback is more objective. You can use this feedback as a progression toward your goals which can be a
motivator, or it may signal that your goal is either too easy or too challenging and needs to be adjusted.
