try for work) coming from India, Pakistan &
UAE, shows a surge in the number of applications in Canadian universities by
foreign candidates.
Talking of Canadian universities, the no.1 is the university of Toronto
according to the 2018 QS World University Rankings. It is among the world’s
top 10 public universities, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2017 Best
Global Universities Rankings. Another university is University of Alberta situated
in Edmonton, Canada. It ranks amongst top 5 Canadian universities and offers
a total of 64 different courses as compared to the University of Toronto, which
offers only 30 courses. Apart from these, University of British Columbia is a
global centre for research and training, ranking amongst 40 best universities
worldwide.
Canadian economy at a glance
The GDP of Canada comprises of the agriculture sector (1.6%), industry
(27.7%) and services (70.7%) according to a 2016 estimate, indicating at their
services sector as a backbone of Canadian economy. The largest portion of
the service sector comprises of retail stores which are concentrated in a small
number of chain stores clustered together in shopping malls. The second largest
portion of the services is the business service that hire candidates for financial
services, real estate and communications industries.
