WASH AROUND
Installation
Shaft Insertion
This page explains how to install the side-wheel shaft. The procedure is different for the two styles (Electric-
Drive vs. Hydraulic-Drive).
Note: We have found it easier to install the shafts before mounting the heads onto the booms.
Electric Drive
1) Loosen the four mounting bolts on the upper and lower shaft bearings to allow some freedom of
alignment.
2) Loosen both set screws in each of the shaft bearings
3) Slide the shaft up through both bearings until it is flush with the top of the gearbox and align the
keyway openings from a top view.
4) Secure the supplied split-locking collar into position. This will hold the shaft in place.
5) Slide the supplied key down through the keyway from the top of the gearbox until it also is flush
with the top of the gearbox.
6) Tighten all bearing bolts and the setscrews.
7) Repeat this procedure for the other side.
Hydraulic Drive
1) Loosen the four mounting bolts on the upper and lower shaft bearings to allow some freedom of
alignment.
2) Loosen both set screws in each of the shaft bearings
3) Slide the shaft up through both bearings and hydraulic motor and align the Woodruff key with the
slot in the shaft.
4) Secure the supplied split-locking collar into position. This will hold the shaft in place.
5) Tighten all bearing bolts and the setscrews.
6) Repeat this procedure for the other side.
CAUTION
Do not install any cleaning material until all equipment has been installed, turned on and
checked for hydraulic, pneumatic and water leaks.
