FOAMING PODS
Initial Startup Procedure
Assuming the pods and the control panel have been installed, utility lines connected, and the water
and electrical feeds have been hooked up properly, you are ready to set the adjustments on the
panels.
The following guidelines will help you with the initial adjustments to the dual panels for operation.
1. Make sure that the electrical and water supply is turned off.
2. Set the water needle valves on the Back-Room Panel to approximately 3 turns open (use
the set screw on the handle of the valve for a marker when counting turns).
3. Make sure that the air regulators are turned off at this time. This is done by turning them
counter clockwise until they stop turning.
4. Prime the pumps by opening the bleed off valve (shown in
image) located on top of the outlet of the pump.
5. Turn the pumps on and turn the adjustments all the way
up.
6. Once the chemical is flowing out of the bleed off tube,
turn the valves off. Now let the chemical fill the outlet
tubing.
7. When the pods are in the desired position, begin to fill the
chemical lines.
8. Turn the water on. Once the water and chemical has filled
the utility lines and is flowing out of the pods, you can
start turning the air pressure up.
9. Turn up one air regulator at a time until foam begins to sputter, then reduce the air
slightly. Repeat for the remaining foam colors
10. Once the system is producing foam, you can fine-tune the water and air to the foam
consistency you are looking for.
11. The fine-tuning of the foam can be adjusted at both the panel and the feed blocks. At the
feed block the chemical/water lines have flow controls installed which allows for more
adjustability.
12. Follow the steps below for adjustments:
• To use less chemical, reduce the chemical pump setting and the water flow at the
needle valves on the In-Bay Panel.
• Re-adjust the air pressure for each color and adjust the spray angle on the Pods for
the preferred vehicle coverage.
• Fine-Adjust the strongest spraying pod by restricting the flow on the chemical/water
needle valve located on the Feed Block. The term “strongest spray” means which
color, what side of vehicle is flowing the most.
Note: This particular foam system has been proven to produce good, quality foam as low as 30%
on the supplied Pulsatron Pumps.
