December 18. Went to school. We had our Glee Club party
in the night. I had a date with Carl Reif. We also went on a scav-
enger hunt.

December 19. Went to school. After school I fooled around.
After supper Catherine wanted me to go to the show, but I stayed
home and studied.

December 20. Went to school. After school I had Glee Club
and John came home [from the seminary] for Xmas. After supper
Gloria came down and we studied.

December 21. Went to school again as usual. After supper,
the Glee Club went out Xmas caroling at the Sisters’ house [the
convent] and other places.

December 22. Went to school. After supper Gloria and I went
to the football game, Routt vs. Quincy. We got beat both games.
Too bad!

December 23. Mamma, Norine, and I went uptown and
looked for a dress for me. In the evening Harold and I went down
to Gloria’s.

December 24. Christmas eve. Went to Church. After dinner
I went up to Gloria’s. We took the car out by ourselves and went
riding. Went to bed early.

December 25. Christmas. Got up at 3:15 A.M. and went to
5:00 o’clock Mass at Carrollton. John was sub-deacon [on the altar
at the Mass]. I went up to Gloria’s and Harold, her, and I went to
the show, Alice in Wonderland.

December 26. Fooled around in morning. In the afternoon
Mother and I went to a party at Gloria’s. After supper stayed home
and fooled around.

December 27. Stayed home in morning. In the afternoon
