Revit Links – Linked Projects
Revit Links – Linked Projects
In larger projects, it is worth considering to use Revit Links. For example, topography, different
disciplines or loose furnishings for a project located in a file for themselves. If there are multiple
buildings or parts of a project, these can also be located on independent files, subsequently
they can then be linked to the file which contains the topography.
Creating a Revit Link
On the Ribbon Insert Tab select:
”Link Revit”.
*.rvt file should be placed and the following are now
possible with Positioning:
Auto – Center to Center: Link file will be placed with the
Center-in-center of Revit project file.
Auto – Origin to Origin: Link file zero point will be used for automatic placement – this can,
however, sometimes lie far from the actual graphics and should be investigated in advance.
Auto – By Shared Coordinate
Can be used if Link file and the host project have shared coordinates. Link file are automatically
placed in the shared coordinates.
Auto – Project Base Point to Project Base Point
Link file zero point will dock automatically in the Host file to zero point. If the Host-file zero
moves, nothing happens automatically, but by right click the linked file can "Move to Project
Base Points" used.
Manuel – Origin: Is placed manually in Revit where Link file's zero point is used-this may,
however, sometimes lie far from the actual graphics and should be investigated in advance.
Manuel – Base point: Is placed manually in Revit from Link the file's basic point – in principle,
Link the file's zero point.
Manuel – Center: Is placed manually on the basis of Link file's graphic center point.
NOTE:
When linked to a Worksharing file it can be chosen which
Worksets should be linked with. Click the down arrow next
to the Open button and select Specify…
When I click Open it is possible to specify which Worksets
you want to include
