Jazz settled on the swing at home
Jazz We had only had Nico for offered to drive Jazz all the way to Calais if we
Jazz
could meet him there. Jo came to the rescue
about a year and a half
when my mum was bitten
once again and offered to drive me to Calais in
her van to collect Jazz. So, we set a date and
by the GP bug and decided
she wanted a companion.
So, I turned to Jo again time, packed the car with sweets and treats and
off we went on a road trip!
who put out some feelers for me as my parents
weren’t keen on having a puppy and wanted to Jazz was excited to get to his new home and
give an older dog a nice, quiet country life. Luck meet everyone. He settled in quickly, but it
struck again as someone in Poland contacted wasn’t without some hurdles. Firstly, his name
Jo and confirmed they had an older dog (7) was actually Yazz but we all kept calling him
whose owner had fallen ill and could no longer Jazz and so it stuck. Secondly, all his training
cope with him. Jazz had been returned to his had been in Polish, so mum started training in
breeder (Andrzej), as is common with GP’s, English, which Jazz picked up very quickly. We
and was now seeking a quiet home. The only had to slowly introduce Nico to Jazz as they
downside to the situation was that he was in were both entire males and this can sometimes
Poland! cause territorial issues. After 2 successful on-
lead introductions we let them off in the garden
His breeder (and current owner) very kindly together and they have been best friends ever
since! In fact, if I go to mums without Nico, Jazz
cries and won’t stop staring at my car as if I
have done him a great injustice by not bringing
Nico with me.
I would say it has taken a good year for Jazz
to settle fully, trust everyone and feel secure.
He’s such a funny character and loves to see
his local village doggy friends when they pass
by the gate or out on his long country walks. His
favourite game is we have to throw a handful
of treats in the air and he has to find them in
the grass. He digs up mum’s garden and hides
in her bushes and when told off he gets the
“Zoomies” and sprints up and down the garden.
Then he sits by mum’s side and grins like a
Cheshire cat! We all love him to bits and mum
wouldn’t be without him, even when he follows
her into the bathroom. I truly believe that all the
hard work mum has put in makes it all the more
Best of Friends, Jazz & Nico worthwhile to see him happy.
