Funny Fans at Hand Fan Gathering

Fan enthusiasts from across the country who are members of the Fan Association of North Havana The Planters Exchange
America (FANA) gathered in sunny San Diego, CA recently to share fans from their collections.
One of the highlights of the meeting was a display of members’ “funny fans” depicting fans with www.havanaflevents.com “Not Just an Antique Mall”
images of playful animals, mischievous babies, dogs on parade, ironic scenes, and fun celebrities.
Another focus of the meeting was a lecture about and extensive display of chinoiserie fans that Antiques, Collectibles,
were popular in Europe in the 1700s. The group also visited the fan collection of the San Diego Glass, Home Accents,
History Center. Toys, Dolls, Pottery
FANA members were able to buy vintage, antique, and new fans at the members’ fan sale.
Through its charity auction the organization also raised nearly $4000 for its grant program. The In a Designated National Landmark
bidding this year was very competitive for a late 18th century chinoiserie fan which sold for $585 204 2nd Street NW
and a 1920s fixed advertising fan depicting all the presidents through Calvin Coolidge. The funds Havana, FL
raised will be used for grants such as the one received by the Museum of the City of New York
