The 5 Pillars of Responsible Sport
WORLD U18
Planning & Communications
Producing events responsibly requires smart planning, accurate measurement and effective
communication
Procurement
Understanding the impacts of purchasing decisions enables healthier choices, including focusing on
local, regional and sustainable products and resources
Resource Management
KYEB
Managing energy and waste in a responsible way is one of the biggest challenges events and organizers
face, especially considering the current and expected impacts of worldwide climate change. This reality
calls for increased focus on waste diversion, energy conservation, use of renewable energy sources and
maximizing alternative transportation, along with calculation and analysis of the event’s carbon footprint
Access & Equity
Improving equality goes hand-in-hand with our ability to live in a peaceful, productive and healthy
society. Sporting events provide the ideal platform to unite diverse groups, especially by increasing
access among historically underrepresented groups and setting a positive example for youth
