Chapter 10 Chapter 9   YOUR SUPPORT NETWORK
                                                  Obesity Is A Family Affair



        69% of Americans are either overweight or obese, including our children. IT’S NOT YOUR FAULT. It snuck up on
        you, just like it did on me. I didn’t plan it that way, any more than you. It’s our great grandparents’ fault.
        Worse, it’s our Government’s fault assisted by the Food, Sugar and Medical industries. So it’s all around you.

        You’ve got to save yourself and your family first.  Then, help others.  I can tell you IT’S A FAMILY AFFAIR.  You
        must help each other.  When one falls off the wagon for any of a variety of reasons THAT WILL HAPPEN, you
        must quickly help them back – because the alternative is Pain, Depression & DEATH – SOONER THAN LATER.

        Now, for this to happen in any family, one of you must start FIRST – that’s usually the leader of the family –
        and that’s usually the matriarch in the family.    (At least, it’s that way in my family ☺ )





















        There is no "WITHDRAWAL" period.  In the first week you’ll lose a pound or two – but in the mirror you’ll
        never know the difference – that’s discouraging after all that effort.  My advice TO START is to forget the
        mirror, forget the weigh scales.  As long as you’re not cheating mid-day, by the end of the first week you may
        not SEE the difference BUT you WILL absolutely FEEL the difference – and that’s all that really matters.

            And remember: when you NEED something mid-day, have your FEAST OF CHAMPIONS coming up.

        AS SURE AS THE SUN RISES, YOU WILL HAVE LOST WEIGHT.  Please don’t think about it, just do something else.

        Don’t sit around the house – go for a slow walk around the block – JUST ONCE.  Enjoy (no jogging please).

        When you feel discouraged, go somewhere (except the grocery store). The park will do just fine. Take the dog.
        I REPEAT – The First 2 Weeks ARE THE TOUGHEST – Now You Know.  SO DOUBLE DOWN YOUR RESOLVE FIRST.

         WEIGHT LOSS IS NOT A STRAIGHT LINE DOWN:  You lose in PLATEAUS – e.g. down 3-7 days – plateau 2-5 days
