Chapter 1 OBESITY: “The Good Life”
Obese People Have Happier Families
Just imagine, ALL DAY LONG without snack foods, LARGE soft drinks, cheeseburgers, cookies, doughnuts,
candies, ice cream, chocolates, pies, cake and a few bagels . . . UNTIL BEDTIME – then have all you like.
You feel sorry for “skinny” people not having these sugary things – just that tasteless stuff. (Author: We have
a surprise chapter for you on Taste in just a few pages.)
You’re all happy and feeling healthy and enjoying life together.
Your children are happy wonderful children. For Sure This Is . . . . .
“The Good Life”
Looking back at my life 45 years ago as a morbidly obese person, brings a tear to my eye when I realize how
easy it was to do what I had been told BY EVERYONE was the right way to eat and sleep. Eat three to six meals
a day – the way my parents and grandparents did (most of them were also obese) – and don’t sleep on a full
stomach. Amazing: Your government and health officials tell you the same thing.
I lived the same way as the people above and got tons of encouragement to
continue doing it FROM EVERONE – INCLUDING MY FRIENDS. It took a profound
shock – my 2 boys playing TOGETHER in my pant legs to cause me to pause and
reflect – albeit in TOTAL SHOCK – but my 2 boys were having such a great time.
Then, one day, accidently I took a closer look at myself in a mirror, sideways, as I
stepped out of the bathtub. I was HUGE – someone else – so I tried every diet in
sight – nothing worked. I hated them – they were boring. But, it wasn’t until a
year later that Dr. Selby’s “Revelation” finally MADE ME consider my real options.
Sure, I look forward to meeting St. Peter . . . Someday. But maybe later than
sooner . . . actually much later. So, while the above is certainly “The Good Life”.
Maybe, just maybe, there is a better life than the constant Hemorrhoids,
Indigestion, Depression & other awful painful things that come every day with “The Good Life”.
YES, YES . . . lions, tigers, pet cats and my dog “Sally” are carnivores and we’re omnivores – but my 45 years
with Dr. Selby’s advice was absolutely correct . . . so we’ll deal with carnivores & omnivores in a few pages.
