Chapter 1 OBESITY: “The Good Life”
                           Obese People Could Save $24,000

The AVERAGE person in the U.S. eats an average of 5.3 pounds of food and sugary drinks (83 ounces) a day
EVERY DAY. Morning = 15 oz., noon = 20 oz., night = 35 oz., PLUS snacks & sodas = 13 oz. No wonder 69% of
us are overweight. Depending on their age, gender, height and daily activity, the average obese person eats 6
to 10 pounds a day (96 – 160 oz.) average 7.5 lbs. (120 oz.) day (mostly snacks, sweets & sugary drinks).

The heavier you are; the more energy (food/sugar) you need to carry your body’s weight.

To see your daily FOOD requirements, go online, visit: Calorie Calculator. ENTER your Age, Gender, Height,
Weight & Activity Level then Calculate. TO MAINTAIN YOUR WEIGHT, divide Calories you require by 567
average calories per pound of NATURAL food. THIS gives the POUNDS of FOOD you require Daily

At 300 pounds, 5’ 6”, an obese lightly active female 35 years old, only needs 5 pounds of food a day – not 6-10
pounds. To lose 2 pounds a week she only needs 3.26 pounds of food a day. At her ideal weight (low-normal
Page: 135) she only needs 1,100 calories = 2 pounds of food a day (32 oz. = ONE full stomach Page: 21)

Sugary Drinks, INCLUDING FRUIT JUICE count in your food ounces per day – water doesn’t.
