When planning my summer activities around airshows, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Camrose
was hosting one featuring the Snowbirds! The last time the city hosted an airshow with them was back in

This year, the event took place at the Camrose Airport on the evening of Wednesday July 18 . It would be the
first performance by the Snowbirds in Alberta for their 2018 season. The initial weather forecast called for a
possibility of thunderstorms, though the weather turned out to be perfect for an evening airshow.
The show began at 7:00 pm with the nine Snowbird aircraft taking off down the runway one by one. After
“shaking out the aircraft” and forming up into formation, the Snowbirds began their routine with the nine-
plane “Vulcan” formation with nine twinkling lights , flying in from the front towards the spectators. With
precise and graceful large formation maneuvers they dazzled the crowd.
