The sole pilots added to the excitement of the show with spine-chilling head-on crosses.
To end their performance, the Snowbirds commemorated the pilots that flew in the Battle of Britain. They did
this by simulating the dogfights with curving and twisting turns that were a common sight over the skies of
Britain in the summer of 1940. After the performance, the professionalism of the pilots was most impressive
as they met with spectators to sign autographs and pose for pictures.
I find small town airshows offer a more personal feel then some larger airshows. With smaller crowds, they
allow spectators to get up close to the aircraft and meet the performers. They also provide a great opportunity
for airshow fans in surrounding communities to see the Snowbirds without having to drive long distances.
Over the years I have seen many performances by the Snowbirds and always enjoy their performance.
They remain a highlight at every airshow!
