3.9 Drangla Lami Goenpa Monastery

               Drangla Lami Goenpa Monastery was built by the Khedrup Choki Dorji who was the sixth
               abbot of Busa Wangdue Goenpa Monastery. In Drangla, the local deity, Thrinlay Dendup
               attempted to harm the Lama with evil magic power by transforming himself into an iron
               fierce wild yak. The lama with his spiritual power subdued the deity and made him the
               dharma protector of the area. He then built the Drangla Lami Goenpa monastery which is
               still being used as the residence of success lineage of Busa Trulku Rinpoche. On the back
               of it, he established a crematorium for the people of Drangla.  It is believed Khedrup Choki
               Dorji is linked to Choying Rangdrol, who is the son of Dorji Lingpa. Choying Rangdrol is
               the incarnation of Yudra Nyingpo and the disciple of Vairotsana.
                                                    The  Seventy  Abbot  of  Busa  Wangdue  Goenpa
                                                   Monastery Lama Dorji Tenzin, who was the nephew of
                                                   Khedrup  Choki  Dorji  and  received  the  teachings  of
                                                   Dorji Lingpa tradition from him and mastered them,
                                                   also  stayed  at  Drangla  Lami  Goenpa  Monastery  nd
                                                   Wangdue Gonpa preaching the dharma.

                                                   The  Eighth  Abbot  of  Busa  Wangdue  Goenpa
                                                   Monastery  Lama  Sherab  Yoezer  was  born  as  a
                                                   grandson of Khedrup Choki Dorji stayed and blessed
                                                   the Drangla Monastery.

                                                   The Ninth Abbot of Busa Wangdue Goenpa Monastery
               Lam Phuntsho Dorji (alias Tsundru Dorji) was born to Namgay Pelmo, the younger sister
               of Lama Sherab Yoezer, preached dharma at Drangla Monastery. The Buli Trulku who
               gave  him  some  statues  (buddha)  are  kept  at  the  Drangla  Monastery,  and  the  and  a
               Choedril (large bell) is kept at Busa Wangdue Gonpa.

               The Tenth Abbot of Busa Wangdue Goenpa Monastery Lam Ngawang Tenzin Rinpoche
               was born to younger brother of Lam Phuntsho Dorji at Drangla Monastery re-build the
               old Drangla Lami Goenpa Monastery.

               The  current  Busa  Trulku  and  the  Eleventh  Abbot  –  Busa  Trulku  Khentruel  Sonam
               Gyeltshen Rinpoche was born to father Phurpa who is the elder brother of Lam Ngawang
               Tenzin Rinpoche from Lami Goenpa Drangla.

               Till date five (5) lineage holder of the heart son of terchen Dorji Lingpa were born from
               the family of Drangla Lami goenpa monastery. Thus, considering both from incarnation
               and lineage perspective, Dranga Lama Goenpa Monastery is considered very sacred and
               it’s looked after and maintained by the successive lineage holders of Busa Trulkus.
