         (World Elder Abuse Awareness Day)

        The  program  Namani  Vardhakya  was  conducted  on  15  June,  2015  in  the  District
        Panchayat Priyadarshini Hall. This program was the initiative of the Ernakulam District
        Panchayat, Lakeshore Hospital, Social Justice Department, District Literacy Mission
        and NGO MAGICS which was observed on World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. The main
        aim of the program was to facilitate the older population with the basic resources that a
        society is capable of providing and consequently bring to the community's notice the
        problems faced by the elderly.
        In order to help the older population who is suffering from any physical disabilities, the
        Ernakulam District Panchayat had taken several steps to ensure that the elderly do not
        face any kind of difficulties while moving around independently in the community. As an
        initiative  for  this  effort  District  Panchayath  made  the  remedial  changes  in  its
        infrastructure  to  access  the  District  Panchayath  for  everyone  without  depending
