Age-Frienldy Ernakulam Inaguration

Dr. Praveen G Pai (VPS Lakeshore Hospital) was given the charge of General Coordinator. Mr. Balu

James (M.S.W.) , Mr. Johns Augustine (M.S.W.) and Boniface Gasper (M.S.W.) were coordinators for
the program. District Panchayat allotted the ground floor of a two storied building adjacent to Maradu
Janamytri Police Station, Ernakulam to set up a project office. Since the NGO MAGICS has been
instrumental in designing the initial projects along with VPS Lakeshore Hospital, the District Panchayat
entrusted MAGICS the task to maintain the project office, coordinate the three initial projects (Elder-line,
University of Third Age and Senior- Taxi) and initiate discussions with other Government and Non-
Government agencies and collaborate towards the main aim.

It is the responsibility of Government and the society to
ensure the safety, Security and Social Inclusion of the Elderly
Population in it. At this time I Appreciate Ernakulam District
“ Panchyat, Lakeshore Hospital and the ngo MAGICS for the efforts
that they have taken in ensuring the comfort of senior citizen in the
District, Kerala Government is happy to support Age-Friendly
