Electrical system – electrical components EL - 5
Basic inspection IN
1. Appearance inspection:
a. Visually check if the appearance is in good condition, hold down rods and wirings are fixed firmly. DI
b. Check if there is any crack on the battery case and inter partitions. Tap the case and inter partition with
a wooden stick, and listen to sound to determine if there is any discontinuity. Especially, in the interfaces EG
between the center partition and four side walls of the battery case, cracks is likely to be formed, check these
areas carefully.
TR
c. In the case that a sight glass indicator is provided on the battery, if it shows green, it means the battery is
full; if it shows red or white, it stands for low power or no power. Capacity, density and voltage tests below
AX
shall be performed
2. Capacity test:
FR
a. The high rate discharge tester, also called discharge fork, consists of a DC voltage meter and a load resistor.
b. For the high rate discharge testers of different manufacturers and brands, the specified values stated in the
original instruction books shall be complied with. In general, for batteries in good condition, the voltage of ST
each cell shall be over 1.5V, and remain stable in 5s. If in 5s the voltage drops rapidly or one of cells has a
voltage 0.1 V and more lower than that of other cells, it indicates the fault of the battery. BR
c. The following table is the result comparison of the test using high rate discharge tester.
