● Door: full open IN

● Estimation of the amount of refrigerant to be added DI
f. After finishing above steps for adding refrigerator, shift A/C to “OFF”, and allow the pressure to get
balanced. Shift the A/C to “ON” again, than make the judgment. EG
● With foam: the mixture of gaseous and liquidus refrigerant can produce foam.
● Clear: Pure refrigerant liquid has the clear appearance. TR
● Turbid: when oil is separated from the refrigerant, there will be a milk white thin layer.
● Turbid with foam. When gaseous refrigerant is mixed with the separated oil, there will be a milk white thin AX
layer with foam.
g. Above are status generally observed through the sight glass. Due to exterior conditions and other reasons,
FR
the status could not be determined by watching through the sight glass, it is required to confirm and check the
pressure variation of the high pressure side. (i.e., adding too much refrigerant will cause the pressure increase
ST
rapidly).
h. During adding the refrigerant, watch the status variation through the sight glass and pressure variation at the
high pressure side of the pressure gauge. Then add the refrigerant accordingly. BR
i. After adding the refrigerant, close the low pressure valve on the pressure gauge, then close the switch (if
there is) on the quick connector, and remove the charge hose from the quick connector port immediately to BW
avoid gas leakage. Cover the cap onto the charge valve.
6. Warm the engine to normal working temperature. EL
7. Check if there is any refrigerant leakage. (refer to “Chapter EL - Electrical Components- Warm air
and A/C - refrigerant, On board check ”)
Caution
● Only the refrigerant maintenance equipment suitable for the vehicle type can be used.
● The AC system is easy to leak.
● It is not allowed to place the A/C refrigerant close to open flame.
● Expose the recycled refrigerants according to relevant laws and regulations.
