EG - 46 Engine section – Engine (Cummins ISF3.8)

Caution

• Before disassembling and assembling the engine assembly, clean all the engine oil, and disconnect the
wiring harness, pipe joint and connection between the engine and the vehicle body.
• Before all the harnesses and pipes are disconnected, it is necessary to mark to avoid miswiring or
bobbling harness and piping during installation.
• After disconnecting the pipe fittings, the pipe connections shall be bandaged to avoid ingress of impurities.
• All discharged oil shall be collected and handled as required to keep the workplace clean.

1. Disconnect the negative electrode cable of the battery and remove the battery (see "Chapter EL
Electrical System - Electrical Components - Battery – Battery, Replacement")

2. Discharge the coolant (see "Chapter EG Engine Section - Engine (Cummins ISF 3.8) - Cooling
System - Coolant, Replacement ")
3. Remove the transmission assembly (see "Chapter TR Transmission and Control Mechanism -
Manual Transmission - Transmission Assembly, Replacement")

4. Disconnect the ECU connector of the engine
a. Rotate the ECU connector switch of the engine and
unplug the ECU connector of the engine.

5. Remove the fixing bolt with bracket assembly of ECU
(four) and remove the ECU with bracket assembly

6. Disassemble the fixing nut of dipstick pipe bracket
and remove the dipstick pipe
