WARRANTY POLICY & PROCEDURES MANUAL
Only genuine parts are to be used as part of the sublet repair - dealer to supply the parts. It is the Dealer’s
responsibility to collect the displaced parts and tag and store them.
A complete Repair Order is required for all sublet repairs, including the technician’s story (customer
complaint, diagnosis and rectification).
A copy of the digitally completed sublet tax invoice (NOT hand written) must be attached to the Repair
Order and the original filed in accounts.
Date, mileage, VIN number, registration number (typed NOT hand written)
6.1 Emergency Repairs
FOTON will review emergency repairs by an outside repairer when no FOTON Dealership is available
or the Dealer’s Service Department is closed at the time the repairs were required. If the company
determines that it would have accepted a warranty claim, it will make an adjustment upon proof from the
Dealer that he has made the same adjustment with the customer.
6. PRIOR WARRANTY APPROVAL (PWA)
There are certain repairs which require Prior Warranty Approval. These should be submitted before
completion of the repair and prior to submission of a claim. PWA is submitted on the Vehicle Quality
Information Report Form (“Tech Report”).
PWA repairs should be finalised within one month of approval, unless there are extenuating circumstances.
PLEASE NOTE: Should the cost of overhauling the component be more than 80% of the cost
of replacement, replacement will be necessary.
7. PRODUCT AND TECHNICAL REPORTS
A Technical Report is entered through the Foton Warranty Portal or Email for assistance in diagnosing
and rectifying a vehicle. It must be submitted at the time of diagnosis and prior to submitting the warranty
claim. Technical reports required for all warranty repairs.
8. WARRANTY CLAIM SUBMISSION
Correct preparation of the warranty claim is vital to ensure accuracy within the claim. This eliminates
errors, confusion and ensures prompt payment.
The Dealer must make certain that all personnel who work with warranty completely understand the
FOTON warranty guidelines and requirements.
9.1 Warranty Claim Submission Time
Warranty claims must be submitted within ten (10) working days from the last clocking date. To the
maximum extent permitted by law, we are not obliged to honour any claims lodged outside this period.
**FINAL REPAIR DATE = LAST CLOCKING DATE**
Warranty claims with errors/returned warranty claims must be amended and resubmitted within five (5)
calendar days. Failure to do so will result in a rejected claim.
