(h). Fill engine oil into the piston ring groove,
rotate the piston ring for several turns,
and the piston ring shall be at the same
position as indicated in the step (e). Use
the lint-free non-woven cloth to clean the
crankshaft connecting rod journal and
the cylinder bore. Apply engine oil onto
the cylinder bore and the connecting rod
journal. Fit the piston ring connecting rod
assembly into the cylinder bore via the
piston ring compression guide sleeve and
push it in place. Note that the forward-
pointing mark on the piston points to the
timing direction, without being reversed.

(i). Before fitting a new connecting rod fixing
bolt, apply a suitable amount of lubricating
oil onto the threads and the bolt head and
bottom.
(j). Pre-tighten the connecting rod fixing bolt

(arrow direction) , then tighten the bolt
crosswise with the torque of 30±3 N•m, and
mount the bearing cap correctly.

(k). Install the oil pan upper body.
(l). Install the engine oil pump unit.
(m). Install the oil pan weldment (for the longitudinal engine).
(n). Install the oil pan weldment (for the horizontal engine).
(o). Install the cylinder head.
