Mighty Cardinal Band

This fall, the SHS Mighty Cardinal Band competed in the
Region 11 UIL marching contest at Rutledge stadium. The
band earned “straight 1s”- the top rating from each judge. The
entire band staff would like to congratulate their students for
this huge accomplishment. We thank their campus, district
administration, and amazing band parents for their continued
support. Southside is excited about our middle school students
now being able to learn alongside high school band veterans.
Both middle schools feed into the high school and when they
are able to march alongside the Might Cardinal Band it is an
experience they will remember and no doubt be inspired by.
Being able to see the Losoya and Matthey students march with
the SHS students was a proud moment.

SISD Launches Intramural Sports Intramural Sports
for Little Cardinals

The excitement is real and the competition is fierce as Southside’s
little Cardinals are now able to compete on the field, in the gym,
and on the track. Southside has launched intramural sports as
our elementary schools compete against one another in soccer,
basketball, volleyball, flag football, and track.“This is an
opportunity for our young athletes to learn the fundamentals of the
sports we offer. It brings the community together and allows our
community to see what activities are offered here at Southside,”
Coach Jessica Cardenas, Intermural sports coach, said.
