ABSTRACT




                       This study is aimed to (1) describe the implementation of learning Indonesian class

               XI  in  SMALB/C;  (2)  describe  the  constraints  faced  by  teachers  in  learning  Indonesian
               class XI in SMALB/C; and (3) explain the strategies applied by the teacher in order to

               overcome  the  obstacles  faced  in  learning.  This  research  is  a  qualitative  research  with

               descriptive research method. The results of the research on learning Indonesian subjects
               for students tunagrahita class XI SMALB Banyumas District in 2017, indicates that (1)

               Indonesian  learning  process  goes  well.  Teachers  have  prepared  preparations  before
               teaching, despite with all the limitations. Indonesian Language Learning in both schools

               already includes four skills. Learning reading skill applying early reading technique and
               word recognition. The teaching of writing skills is done by copying the word/phrase and

               method of group work. The teaching of speaking skills is carried out by applying direct

               practice  and  through  short  dialogue  with  short  story  book  and  video  media.  Teaching
               listening skills are supported with LCD. Constraints that occur are the students take a long

               time to be able to accept learning, and one student rampage in the classroom. Strategies to
               overcome the obstacles  that occur is  the teachers  manage them selve  to  be relaxed and

               patient, guide children individually, learn from concrete things and work with parents of

               students.
