22 ND APRIL 2018 EARTH DAY CELEBRATION

Gulf Indian High School celebrated Earth Day on 22 April 2018.On this occasion, a pledge to
protect Mother Earth was taken by the students.
Grade 1
Students were provided with cutouts of hands, water drops and leaves in which they wrote
different slogans and quotes on saving Earth. The students actively participated in the activity
with much enthusiasm.
Grades 2 & 3
Students celebrated Earth Day with making palm cutouts with inscriptions about the Earth Day.
Every work of art was displayed in the corridor. It was a pleasure to watch these tiny tots work
with such ease. It was an enjoyable day for the children.
VISIT TO DUBAI GARDEN CENTRE
In order to demonstrate support towards environmental protection and as a part of Earth Day
celebration, 15 students from Gulf Indian High School visited the Dubai Garden Centre on 21 st
April and attended a plantation workshop. The children were provided with saplings, mini pots
and soil. They followed the instructions provided by the Instructor. The students put soil in the
mini pots and planted the saplings provided to them.
The instructor explained to them the importance of air, sunlight and water for plants. The Dubai
Garden Centre team took them thorough the entire process and briefed them about the importance
of these seeds in our ecosystem. They were also guided towards how to nurture these seeds when
taken back home. The children actively participated in the workshop showing great enthusiasm
and returned happily.
