SCIENCE WEEK - 15       TH  APRIL 2018 to 19 TH  APRIL 2018

               The Science Department of GIHS organized a Science week from 15 April to 19 April. The
               objective of this science activity was to make the students understand that science is fun. Various
               activities were conducted to demonstrate their different skills and talents.

               Grade 1

               On 15 April a Quiz programme was conducted based on the topic “Sense Organs & Body
                      th
               Parts”. The students busted out with answers during the quiz program and their participation was
                                                                    th
               a remarkable one. The students prepared collages on 16 April on the topic “Water”. The objective
               of this activity is to develop an understanding of the importance of water preservation and saving
                                                th
               for the future generations. On 17 April Talent Hunt was conducted where the students made
               different kinds of insects by using sponge, cloth coloured paper, beads, coconut husk and fibres.





















               Grade 2

               On 15 April a Quiz programme was conducted based on the topic “Healthy Eating” to create
               an awareness amongst the students regarding the importance of eating healthy food and staying

               healthy. The students prepared collages on 16 April on the topic “Save Earth”, with a message
               to create an awareness about the importance of conserving our mother earth. The best entries
                                                           th
               were displayed in the school corridors. On 17 April a Talent Hunt was conducted and students
               were asked to prepare a toy with the help of waste materials (paper, clothes, stick, plastic, glue
                                                               th
               etc.) based on Reuse and Reduce concept. On 18 April students were asked to bring clothing/
               pictures based on seasons. Children who brought clothes wore it and talked about it. Others
               pasted the pictures related to each season in a chart and displayed it in the corridor.
