                                      2 chapter
                                       nd
is explained by the Rishonim: The three cardinal sins are usually ד"סב
done only once. But Lashon Hara is done habitually with no
               regrets or afterthoughts).
[ 9 ] Whoever speaks Lashon Hara enlarges his sin (and extends
it) up to the Heavens, as the pasuk states (Tehilim 73:9) “they
opened their mouths against Heaven as their tongues were Dedicated in memory of
strutting here on earth.” The explanation of this statement is
straightforward and is based on what is written in Tanna De’Vei my dear parents
Eliyahu, that the Lashon Hara one speaks reaches upward to the
(Gd’s) Throne of Glory, as the pasuk states (ibid.) “they opened Rephael Ben Shelomo A”H
their mouths against Heaven as their tongues were strutting here
on earth.” Therefore his sin is very serious because it provokes Adelle Hannah Bat Esther A”H
(the Attribute of) Anger against the world. In particular, the holy
Zohar explains that Lashon Hara invokes the Great Prosecutor
against the Jewish people and in so doing causes death and my brother
destruction and murder in the world.
                                                                                                       Shelomo Hayim Ben Adelle A”H
[ 10 ] Whoever speaks Lashon Hara kills three people: the
speaker, the listener who believes those remarks as truth and the
victim. The teaching example of these three people are: Doeg – my sister
who spoke against the Kohanim of the city of Nov; King Shaul – Esther Bat Adelle A”H
who believed Doeg; and AchiMelech –the Kohein Gadol (living
in the city of Nov), as this is all related in Sefer Shemuel.
                                                                                                                 my cousin and dear friend
[ 11 ] Our fathers tested Hashem in ten ways, however, their
punishment was sealed only because of the sin of Lashon Hara. Isaac “Zucky” Baraka A”H

[ 12 ] The words spoken by man are more serious (in their
consequences) than the actions of man. Someone who violates by their son and brother
a woman or seduces her is fined 50 Shekels by the Torah. But
someone who slanders the reputation of a woman (his wife – Judah Marcus
saying that she committed adultery while betrothed to him) is fined
100 Shekels by the Torah and is additionally given whiplashes
               (Gemara Arachin 15a).
               [ 13 ] Rav Hunah said (Devarim Rabbah 5:6) – Whoever speaks
Lashon Hara causes the Shehchinah to depart from Below and
ascend On High. The Midrash comments on this (Midrash
