punishment from this person commensurate with the evil he did, ד"סב
nor does the entire world have the ability to punish him is a way
that is appropriate to his deeds. The sin of a habitual speaker of
Lashon Hara extends from the earth up to the Heavens. Rather,
first send your arrows On High and afterwards he (the sinner)
will endure coals of burning charcoal from Below.” Similarly,
Chazal have written this idea in Gemara Arachin (15b)

[ 4 ] For every forbidden word, he will have to give a reckoning 9 In loving memory of
and an accounting, as Chazal have said (Gemara Chagigah 5b)
in their commentary on the pasuk (Amos 4:13) “They tell man David I. Shamah A”H
(“they” play back to man) his conversations,” even the most and
innocuous conversations between husband and wife will be told
to him during the time he is judged. Irving Misry A”H

[ 5 ] On occasion, by virtue of opening his mouth (inappropriately)
man can lose his entire share in Olam Haba, as Chazal have taught With love
(Avot 3:11) [Gemara Babba Metziah 59b] “One who publicly Ruby and David I. Shamah
embarrasses his fellow Jew has no share in Olam Haba.
                                                                                                                         and family
[ 6 ] By virtue of the forbidden words he speaks, a Spirit of
Defilement will envelop his lips, as Yeshaya writes (6:5) “because
               I am a man with an impure mouth.” Moreover, this spirit of       
defilement will extend up to this person’s head, and the proof
to this is (from a pasuk in the Torah - Vayikrah 14:18) at the
time the Mehtzora is becoming purified, the pasuk states “and
the residual oil on the hands of the Kohein who is performing תמשנ יוליעל
the purification shall be placed on the head of the Mehtzorah.”
We do not find this regarding any other sinner, that his head must ה"ע םירמ תב המחור
               also be purified.

[ 7 ] Whoever speaks Lashon Hara is as if he repudiates Gd, as
the pasuk states (Tehilim 12:5) “those who say because of our
tongues we will win, our lips are with us, no one can be master
               over us.”
[ 8 ] Whoever speaks Lashon Hara amplifies his sin (to a point
where it is) comparable to three (cardinal) sins of idol worship,
forbidden relations (egs., adultery) and murder. (The comparison
