               Kohanim, commenting on Vayikrah 22:31] that the words “and וֹל ברֵוֹא ערָָה רֶצֵיַּהֶשׁ ,עדַיֵל םָדָאָה ךְירִָצ ,םירִָבְדַּה לַלְכּ
you shall observe” means “learning (Torah),” since by virtue of
               man’s learning he will be prompted to remember that subject.
               great sage, the Gaon Rebbe Betzalel HaCohen Z”L from Vilna,
expounded on this in his approbation to Sefer Chafetz Chayim,
that the essential cure for man not to speak Lashon Hara is by ."
               learning these laws and their related mussar. I also heard directly
from his holy mouth that learning these mitzvot is included in
               the positive mitzvah to “Remember what Hashem your Gd did to םִא ,םָשׁ יִכּ ."
Miryam on the road as you left Egypt” (Devarim 24:9).
                                                               18
               However, even if accepting the responsibility of disciplining
your speech does not initially have the effect of merely reducing
               foolishness and not becoming as routinely accustomed to speaking
               Lashon Hara as much, that effort is still worthwhile. Because .
even if by this discipline he speaks only ten less forbidden words
               each day, in so doing during the course of a year he will have
accumulated much more than 3,000 (words that he did not speak).
It is well known that just as in learning Torah each and every
individual word is an independent mitzvah, so too regarding
               words that are forbidden, each and every individual forbidden
               word is an independent sin. Each sin creates an independent !?
prosecutor. Thus when one conquers one’s Yetzer Hara and loses
               3,000 forbidden words, he loses 3,000 prosecutors and replaces ,
               them with 3,000 advocates. Chazal have taught this concept .
(Gemara Makot 23b), that if man sits (and remains passive) and
               does not commit a sin (when that opportunity presents itself), he ,)ב"י ב"כ( תיִשׁארְֵבּ הָשׁרָָפּ הָבּרַ שׁרָדְִמְבּ יִתאָצָמ ךְָכּ רַחַאְו
earns an equivalent merit as though he performed those mitzvot.
In particular, regarding this subject, Chazal have taught (Gemara
               Yomah 38b) that Heaven will assist anyone who tries to better (to יֵבְּלַכּ תיִא םוּחְנַתּ ברַ רַמָא :םָשׁ וֹנוֹשְׁל הֶזְו ."
               purify) himself. Over the course of time, most certainly, HaKadosh
Baruch Hu will help this person a lot to have no inclination to
               speak language that is forbidden, just as no observant Jew wants

Baruch Hu removes his Yetzer Hara (from that aspect of his life),
