 (And with this I have explained what we say: “Our Father, .
Our King, annihilate all oppressors and prosecutors from
us.” And we repeat this and request of Hashem: “Our
 Father, Our King, close the mouths of all those who claim and 'ה וּנֵוַּצְיַו" :)ד"כ 'ו םירִָבְדּ( בוּתָכַּה רַמָאֶשּׁ הַמִּמ ,ַעוּדָי הֵנִּהְו

the prosecutors will be utterly destroyed why do we ask that
 their mouths be closed (i.e., that they should be stopped from וֹמְכוּ .

when our merit is not sufficiently great to cause the complete

It is commonly known that the behavior of HaKadosh Baruch
 Hu is measure-for-measure. If man completely controls his 'א ארָקְִיַּו( קוּסָפַּה לַע )'ח ח"כ רָבּדְִמַּבּ ,ירְֵפִס( ל"ַזֲח וּרְמָאֶשׁ וֹמְכוּ
mouth during a confrontation and does not respond (speak), so
 too On High does HaKadosh Baruch Hu close the mouths of the
prosecutors so they cannot accuse us). .

 And with this I have explained what HaKadosh Baruch Hu
said to Kayin (Beresheet 4:6-7) “Why are you angry…if you
 don’t do good (improve) sin is crouching at the entranceway (to :)ב"כ ו"ט ,'א( לֵאוּמְשִׁבּ בוּתָכֶּשׁ וֹמְכוּ ,תוֹנָבּרְקָ תַברָקְַהֵמ

 your anger and improve your thoughts, know (understand לַע לֵבּקְַי םִא ."
 clearly) that sin crouches in waiting at the opening of your
mouth. Meaning, the Yetzer Hara resides there in order to cause
 you to sin by provoking argumentation and controversy and
 from this one can come to great suffering. In the end that is ,הֶז לָכּ לַע הרָוֹתַּבּ וּנָל הָוִּצֶּשׁ ,הֶזִּמ אוּה ךְוּרָבּ שׁוֹדָקַּהְל
just what happened; Kayin provoked a fight, as Rashi explains in
 his commentary on the pasuk (Beresheet 4:8) “and Kayin said to בֵל םָשׂ םָדָאָה ןיֵא םִא ,םוֹלָשְׁו סַח ,ךְֶפֶהְלוּ .
Hevel his brother, etc.,” and from there one thing led to another
until the outcome: Kayin murdered Hevel.

 21. This lesson is derived from a play on words: The pasuk uses the term
“Blima,” literally , “Nothingness,” which is similar to the word “Bolem,”
 meaning, to keep one’s mouth closed.
