It became evening and it became morning, þÓš£Òë-−ÌíÐ−ÞÔîëÓþ'Ó¼-−ÌíÐ−ÞÔî

The letter ’í was added on the sixth day 91 −ÌMÌMÔa’í¹−̽Bí
when the days of creation ended, ,³−ÌLêÑþÐaíÑNμÔôþÔôÐèÌa
to teach that He stipulated with them, ,óÓíÖn̼íÖòгÌíÓLþÔôBñ
[“You were created] on the condition ³ÖòÐôñÔ¼
that the Israelites accept ñÑêÖþÐNÌ−óÓí−ÑñμeñÐaÔšÐiÓL
the Five Books of the Torah.” 92 .íÖþB³ −ÑLÐôeì íÖLÌôÎì
Another explanation for “the sixth day.” ,−MÌMÔí óB− :þÑìÔêþÖëÖc
They all [i.e., all creation] are pending ó−ÌðÐôB¼ÐîóÌ−eñÐzóÖlŠk
until “the sixth day,” ,−ÌMÌMÔí óB− ðÔ¼
referring to the sixth day of [the month] Sivan öÖî−̽Ða ’î êeí
which is destined for the giving of the Torah. 93 :íÖþBz öÔzÔôÐlöÖ×enÔí

R. Shimon said, 95 :þÑôBê öB¼ÐôÌL’þ
[man who is] flesh and blood ,óÖðÖîþÖNÖa
who cannot [precisely] know his times and moments ,î−Ö¼ÖèÐþe î−Öz̼ԼÑðB− Bò−ÑêÓL
must add from the profane to the holy. 96 ;LÓðÒwÔíñÔ¼ ñBìÑô¹−̽BíÐñC−ÌþÖ®
God, who [precisely] knows His times and moments ,î−Ö¼ÖèÐþe î−Öz̼ԼÑðBiÓL ,í"ÖaÖwÔí
can enter into it by a hairbreadth, ,íÖþμÔOÔí ¬eìÐkBa½ÔòÐ×Ìò
and it appears as if He concluded [His work] íÖlÌkelÌêÐ×íÖêÐþÌòÐî
on that very day [i.e., the Sabbath]. 97 .óBiÔëBë
Another explanation: [At this point in time,] :þÑìÔêþÖëÖc
what was the world [still] lacking? ?þѽÖìóÖñB¼ÖííÖ−ÖííÓô
[The concept] of rest. .íÖìeòÐô
91 Unlike the other days e.g., −¾−ñ¾ óî− ,−ò¾ óî− ,öî¾êþ óî− where the ê"í which represents the definite article “the,”
is omitted. 92 The letter ê"í has the numerical value of five, symbolizing the Five Books of the Torah. 93 I.e.,
creation is conditional upon the acceptance of the Torah on the sixth day of Sivan. 94 But, did not God complete
creation on the sixth day? 95 Ber. Rab. 10, 10. 96 I.e., man cannot know the precise moment when Friday ends
and when Shabbos begins. He must, therefore, add a few moments from Friday, to Shabbos. 97 I.e., God is aware
of the exact moment of the advent of Shabbos and completed creation at precisely that moment. To the human
