contract (Shirazi, 2014). Accessible financing with fewer procedures to
apply also ensures that the mompreneurs stay in the community
program. One of the participants mentioned that they refused to
accept any loan or financing due to hefty and complicated procedures
            imposed by the financial institutions.

Apart from zakat, waqf also plays a pivotal role in ensuring the success
of the program and the mompreneur business (Shirazi, 2014). Waqf
money can be used to develop a sustainable community centre with
multiple community-based resources such as waqf health centre, waqf
nursery and business centre (Shirazi, 2014 and Razak, 2019). By
creating a waqf community centre that is near their housing vicinity
with ample resources can benefit not only the target participants but
also the public at large. Waqf-based child centres, for example, will
lessen the participant’s burden, enabling them to focus on the business.
The Islamic financial institutions, however, must also monitor the
waqf centre to ensure it is in line with its primary objective. Regular
monitoring is essential to evaluate the impact of zakat and waqf on the
            economic empowerment of the participants.

More significant funding through zakat and waqf for special projects,
such as the Jarum Emas Project, is imperative. For instance, this
dedicated fund can be directed to each housing area under its existing
community centre. This approach allows the committee to initiate
numerous programs to educate and empower the B40 community.
This initiative will foster a good relationship between Islamic financial
institutions, community members, local leaders, and stakeholders.

Zakat and waqf funds from the IFIs also allow for capacity and human
development (Mashema and Haruna, 2023). On this point, further
collaboration with higher educational institutes is pertinent in
enhancing the potential of the mompreneurs. Training modules and
