participants. Significantly, most of the participants expressed that this
project not only provides them with hope to overcome financial
challenges but also alleviates emotional burdens. They aspire to see
more initiatives like this, where all stakeholders collaborate for
community development. Despite possessing notable talents, some
participants face hindrances in their business success due to a lack of
financial literacy, for instance.
3) Health problems
The Jarum Emas Project is confronted with a significant challenge as
some participants grapple with an inability to fully commit themselves
to the initiative, primarily stemming from health-related issues. This
impediment manifests in various forms, including participants
themselves falling ill or having to tend to the health needs of family
members. A considerable number of participants find themselves
facing health concerns, and as a result, are unable to actively engage in
the project. Whether it is their own health issues or the need to care
for sick family members, such as spouses, in-laws, or children, the
participants are navigating a delicate balance between personal well-
being and familial responsibilities.
For those with ill family members, the responsibilities of caregiving
take precedence, compelling them to prioritize the needs of their loved
ones over their commitment to the Jarum Emas Project. The care and
attention required for sick family members can be physically and
emotionally demanding, leaving these mompreneurs with limited time
and energy to participate in the sewing activities at the centre. As a
result of this constrained health crises, find themselves unable to
attend the project centre regularly and contribute to the production of
