        Objectives                         1.     To transfer the control system knowledge for heavy duty plastic printing
                                                  machine.
                                           2.     To transfer printing process knowledge and expertise to produce high
                                                  quality heavy duty plastic printing.
                                           3.     To apply working system and development of quality system using indus-
                                                  trial engineering theory.

        Industry                           Appointed as a vendor for Petronas under the Vendor Development Programme
                                           (VDP) by supplying Polyethylene heavy duty bagging rolls to Polyethylene Malay-
                                           sia Sdn. Bhd. (PEMSB) (Refer Appendix 3)
                                           1.     Production increase about 42.5% per year after secure VDP.
        Public Higher Learning Institute   1.     Industrial experience for university staff.

                                                                                        PROBLEMS IDENTIFIED



        1.     Control system of heavy duty plastic (HDP) printing from one station to another station
               experienced problems and troubleshoot as well as upgrading were required from time
               to time.

        2.     Quality of HDP printing was still in average mode and needed some improvement in
               printing mechanism design.

        3.     Inconsistent demand facing by FM Plastic due to the tight competition between man-
               ufacturers to secure Petronas Development Program.

          2.      Knowledge on printing process and expertise to produce high quality heavy duty plastic
