IMPLEMENTATION OF
PROJECT
Objectives 1. To train counsellors to use Biofeedback techniques in the detection of
drug addictive effects.
2. To train counsellors to use Biofeedback therapy to overcome the effects
of drug addiction.
3. To train students to recover from drug addiction problem by using Biofee-
dback method.
4. To train counsellors and students in using Biofeedback equipment for
assisting the recovery process.
1. Method 1 (Workshop 1)
Methodology Knowledge Transfer Workshop, use of Biofeedback equipment: EmWave
PC / EMwave PSR.
2. Method 2 (Workshop 2 & 3)
Knowledge Transfer Workshop, use of Biofeedback protocols: EmWave
PC Coherence Coach.
3. Method 3 (Workshop 2 & 3)
Knowledge Transfer Workshop, use of Biofeedback equipment: EmWave
PC / EMwave PSR.
4. Method 4 (Workshop 2 & 3)
Biofeedback Sensor Use Workshop and Biofeedback addictive recovery
techniques.
Activities Conducted 1. Project preparation
Printing Materials / Purchasing Equipment & Biofeedback sensor / Prepar-
ation of Student Training Module / Pilot Test.
2. Knowledge Transfer Workshop
Learning how to use Biofeedback Emwave / PSR tools.
3. Workshop on Biofeedback protocol / Coherence coach technique.
4. Sensor use and addiction recovery techniques workshop.
5. Extensive training workshops on program implementation to counsellors /
students and data collection by researchers.
Output 1. Changes in student’s behaviour from negative to positive during the
program period.
2. Changes in student's appearance, show a better attitude than before.
3. Students are less involved with disciplinary or behavioural problems.
4. Changes in academic achievements among students. 52
Industry 1. Supplying EmWave Biofeedback tools to the community.
2. Preparing workshops and courses to the community.
3. Providing training modules to the community.
4. Providing additional modules and follow-ups and multimedia materials to
the community.
Public Higher Learning Institute 1. Increases the number of collaboration projects between public higher
learning institute and community (strategic branding under UMP’s key
result area.
2. Close collaboration with community will create more awareness for UMP
making it top choice university.
3. UMP can commercialize the results of this project with other institutions.
KNOWLEDGE TRANSFERRED 4. UMP gets additional postgraduate student from this project.
Human Capital Development 1. Two (2) UMP’s postgraduate students were trained to master Biofeed
back applications at school.
2. One (1) graduate intern’s project completed a master's degree in
Human Science and graduated in 2015.
3. One (1) graduate intern secured an employment.
PROBLEMS IDENTIFIED
1. Time constraints faced by counsellors in implementing the project
to ensure success of the program.
2. Time constraints faced by students to attend the program sessions.
3. Counsellors are occupied with other tasks at school.
