José Cisneros, City and County of San Francisco
José Cisneros is the treasurer for the city and county of San
Francisco where he serves as the city’s banker and chief
investment officer, managing all tax and revenue collection for San
Francisco. Appointed in 2004, and first elected in 2005, Cisneros
has used his experience in the tech and banking industries to
enhance and modernize taxpayer systems and successfully
manage the city’s portfolio through major recessions.
Cisneros believes that his role of safeguarding the city’s money
extends to all San Francisco residents, and continues to expand his
role as a financial educator and advocate for low-income San
Franciscans through award-winning programs like Kindergarten to
College, Bank On San Francisco and the Financial Justice Project.
Cisneros serves on the State Bar of California Board of Trustees,
he is co-chair of the Cities for Financial Empowerment Coalition and
in 2014-2015 he served as vice chair of the President’s Advisory
Council on Financial Capability for Young Americans.
Molly Cohen, City of San Francisco, Office of Financial
Empowerment
Molly serves as the Interim Director of the San Francisco Office of
Financial Empowerment after previous roles in the San Francisco
Office of the Treasurer & Tax Collector, the New York City Mayor’s
Office, and the New York City Council.
Molly led San Francisco's Municipal Bank Feasibility Task Force and
coordinated pretrial and bail reform efforts for the New York City
Mayor's Office.
Molly received a law degree from Harvard Law School and a
Bachelor of Arts from Brown University.
She is passionate about financial empowerment, community
development, education, books, and baked goods.
