2020 Bank On Washington Forum Speakers




                                 Erwin Reeves, FDIC

                                 Erwin Reeves, Community Affairs Specialist with the Federal Deposit
                                 Insurance Corporation San Francisco Regional Office since 2015,
                                 helps community stakeholders bolster the economic inclusion of low-
                                 income communities in the Bay Area (CA), Oregon, and Washington.
                                 He has over 30 years’ experience supporting community
                                 development that creates & implements programming for small
                                 businesses, nonprofits, and residents in low income communities.

                                 Through his blended experiences as a banker, volunteer and board
                                 member, Erwin has focused on fostering collaboration between

                                 bankers, CDFIs, and community-based organizations as well as
                                 municipal and academic service providers to support financial
                                 education, affordable housing, and access to capital.

                                 Mr. Reeves has a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Jackson
                                 State University.  He has also completed the National Community
                                 Development Lending School held at UC Berkeley, Strategy for Non-
                                 Profit Organizations held at Stanford Graduate School of Business,
                                 and the masters’ level extension program through Pacific Coast
                                 Banking School at the University of Washington.


                                 Jennie Romich, West Coast Poverty Center and University
                                 of Washington

                                 Jennie Romich is Professor of Social Welfare at the UW School of
                                 Social Work and faculty director of the West Coast Poverty Center.
                                 She studies resources and economic well-being in families with an
                                 emphasis on low-income workers, household budgets, and families’
                                 interactions with public policy. Her recent projects include research
                                 into effective marginal tax rates created by means-tested benefit
                                 schedules and the tax system; an investigation of income of families
                                 involved with the child welfare system; and mixed-method
                                 evaluations of the Seattle Paid Safe and Sick Time Ordinance and
                                 $15 minimum wage.  She co-leads the national effort on “Reducing
                                 Extreme Economic Inequality” for the American Academy of Social
                                 Work & Social Welfare’s Grand Challenges Initiative and co-chairs a
                                 national research network on “Poverty, Employment, and Self-
                                 Sufficiency” through the Collaborative of U.S. Poverty Centers.
