               4.3  Communicating visually


               Communication that  is seen rather than  heard or read is  known as  visual
               communication.  Visual communication is used in almost all places in the form of
               signs,  diagrams,  plans,  drawings,  slogans,  photos,  videos  etc.  Visual  messages  are
               kept alone or combined with written or verbal communication































               Visual communication  is the best method to explain critical and hazardous
               situations. These are short, simple and efficient. Visual signs play a vital role especially
               when there is a  language barrier between the sender and receiver.  While using
               visual communication, the receiver must:

               •  recognise the image
               •  understand the information
               •  understand how to apply the knowledge
