Communication

4.5 Who should we talk to, where and when?

In principle, you can start from a grassy field and fly around the whole of

Denmark without turning on the radio. You just have to avoid the places where

               radio connection is required!

Where should you talk to someone?

                  Who should you talk to?

               4.5.1 CTR - TOWER

If you are going to enter a CTR (control zone), you must have permission from

               TOWER.

You can make a call to Karup Tower and “request to cross Control zone from

south to north at 1200 ft”.

TOWER then wants to know what type of aircraft you are flying and how many

persons on board, as well as where you have started from, where you want to
land, how long your endurance is (how long you can fly with the fuel you have).

The reason for submission of information is that you are offered alerting service,

and to give you this service the controller needs the information’s.

               4.5.1.1 Clearance

You will be given a clearance (permission) to cross. You repeat the clearance to

TOWER, so that TOWER is sure that you have understood what you have been

given permission to do and what the conditions are in connection with it

e.g.: cross west of the aerodrome and report 2 NM south of the extended

                   centerline QNH 1020.

If you are going to take off from an aerodrome in a control zone, you must speak
