Denmark is divided into 4 zones, where the UTC time within which VFR flight may
take place is specified for each day of the year.
- Zone 1:
o
west of 011 E including Læsø
- Zone 2:
o
east of 011 E except Bornholm
with small islands
- Zone 3:
Bornholm with small islands
- Zone 4:
o
west of 8 E
The times for the 4 zones are listed on the back of the ICAO map.
Task:
If the time is 12UTC, what is it in Denmark LMT.
Solution:
We add 1 hour and get 13.00 when we have standard time
Task:
How many degrees of longitude do 1 hour correspond to?
Solution:
There are 360 degrees around the earth. The earth is divided into 24 time
zones, each with a difference of one hour.
We get: 360 degrees / 24 hours = 15 degrees equals one hour
