Denmark is divided into 4 zones, where the UTC time within which VFR flight may

take place is specified for each day of the year.

                  - Zone 1:

                                   o
west of 011 E including Læsø
                  - Zone 2:

                                  o
east of 011 E except Bornholm
                      with small islands

                  - Zone 3:
                      Bornholm with small islands

                  - Zone 4:

                                o
                      west of 8 E

The times for the 4 zones are listed on the back of the ICAO map.

                Task:

If the time is 12UTC, what is it in Denmark LMT.

                Solution:

We add 1 hour and get 13.00 when we have standard time

                Task:

How many degrees of longitude do 1 hour correspond to?

                Solution:

There are 360 degrees around the earth. The earth is divided into 24 time

zones, each with a difference of one hour.

We get: 360 degrees / 24 hours = 15 degrees equals one hour

                Exercise:

If the sun is highest in the sky at 045⁰E, what time is it in UTC time?
