protein,
VetBooks.ir CD54 Also called ICAM-1, this glycoprotein is the ligand for the

CD11a/CD18 and CD11b/CD18 integrins. It is expressed on a
wide variety of cells, most notably vascular endothelial cells.

CD55 Also called decay accelerating factor, this glycoprotein blocks

the assembly of C3 convertase and accelerates its disassembly. It
thus protects normal cells against attack by complement. It is
broadly distributed on many cell types.

CD56 An adhesion molecule expressed on NK cells and nerve cells.

CD58 Also called LFA-3, this is a glycoprotein found on most cells

where it is a ligand for CD2.

CD59 A glycoprotein also called protectin, it acts as an inhibitor of
the terminal complement pathway by binding to C8 and C9 and
blocking the assembly of the terminal complement complex. It is
expressed on leukocytes, vascular endothelium, and epithelial

                  cells.

CD61 A β -integrin that associates with CD41 to bind to
                             3
extracellular matrix proteins. It is expressed on platelets and
                  macrophages.

CD62 The selectins (S-lectins) bind to carbohydrate structures such
                                                x
as CD15s (sialyl Lewis ) on neutrophils. CD62E is E-selectin,
CD62L is L-selectin, and CD62P is P-selectin. They are expressed

on platelets, lymphocytes, and endothelial cells.

CD64 Also called FcγRI, this high-affinity IgG receptor plays a key
role in antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity. It is expressed
                  on monocytes and interferon-γ–stimulated granulocytes.

CD66e Also called carcinoembryonic antigen, this glycoprotein is

expressed in large quantities by malignant intestinal cells. Its
detection is therefore diagnostic of intestinal malignancy in
                  humans.
