entire day with Olivier in this AOC. Enjoy visits and tastings at 3-4 domaines as part of your
full-day tour. Lunch is not included. Visits might include the following:

                   • Chateau de la Nerthe: Gorgeous wines! This is one of the oldest estates in the Rhone
Valley. The caves were dug way back in the 1600’s. It was here at this prestigious and
beautiful estate where the first wine from these parts was bottled in 1785. Everything is
                       picture perfect.

                   • Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe: The Brunier family has been tending vines on the
stony plateau called Le Crau for more
than a century. Like La Nerthe, Vieux
Telegraphe is one of the best-known
                       Chateauneuf producers. The 2005 and
2007 vintages landed in the top five of
Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines of the
Year, and the 2010 scored an impressive
96 rating. As you might be wondering,
                       Vieux Telegraphe means Old Telegraph
as it was on this rocky plateau of the
Domaine where in 1792 Madame Chappe, the inventor of the optical telegraph, installed
                       a relay tower.

                   • Domaine de la Janasse: This newer estate (from 1976) has quickly become a superstar
of the AOC. As you might expect from a newer producer, modern winemaking
techniques are used liberally here. Christophe Sabon, son of Aime, the founder, is at the
helm and has attracted a legion of fans, including Robert Parker who recently remarked
that, “he continues to display the sure-handed touch of a veteran winemaker.” RP has
scored these wines as high as 99, placing this domaine in the upper echelon of
Chateauneuf producers Sabon tends to follow the standard Châteauneuf-du-Pape
tradition of 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre for reds and 50% Grenache
blanc, 25% Clairette and 25% Roussanne for his whites.

(Please note that due to the length of time until of your program and the nature of the wine
business, we cannot confirm specific wineries until closer to your dates of travel.)

Olivier will leave you off at Crillon le Brave at the conclusion of touring.
