Day 5 – Friday, June 15: The Coast of Provence with Catherine. Reconnect with Catherine
and head 45 min to the coast for lunch and exploration. Many visitors to Provence never make it
to the coast. Big mistake! Start the day in
Cassis, a charming fishing village which is
located in a most lovely setting and well
known for its pastel-colored buildings.
Think of Cassis as a pre-glam version of
St. Tropez – an authentic, picturesque
seaside town without the glitz. As an
example of this authenticity, fishing boats
really do still dock in the town of 8,000.
The setting is spectacular. Surrounding
Cassis are huge cliffs including Cap
Canaille, the tallest coastal cliff in Europe.
The drive from Cassis to Bandol is lovely,
and you will find the exceptional white limestone cliffs (The Calanques) and coves nearby.
There’s a local expression, “Those who have seen Paris, but not Cassis, have seen nothing.”
With Catherine, you might also explore other coastal areas along the Med. There are several
nice beaches nearby (in Bandol, near Toulon and in St.-Cyr-Sur-Mer) if you are interested in
taking a walk alongside the Med. Return to Villa Gallici at the end of the day with Catherine.

Day 6 – Saturday, June 16: Departure. We’ll arrange a 40-min private transfer to Marseille
Provence Airport for your flight to Paris.
