Capital Campaign
As spring arrives, so does the

completion of the Madelaine Halmos Academy. The stucco is being
completed, the painting is taking place, parking lot grading has begun, and
many inspections continue on a daily basis. Therefore, our dream of
expansion is now a reality—a very special school for 220 children. We
offer our sincere thanks to our supporters, donors, and friends who have
helped us along this journey. We are so close to our fundraising goal of $11
million—to date, we have raised $9.5 million.
This has been a remarkable adventure for our board, team members,
students, and their families. We have been inspired and encouraged by all
of them this past year. One thing is for sure, Madelaine Halmos Academy
is more than an elementary school: it is a community of educators, social
workers, professionals, and volunteers who understand the needs of the
children we serve, many of whom have been with us since birth.
Madelaine Halmos Academy provides a strong and comprehensive
academic program for elementary-aged students. Just as important as
academics, we address our students’ social and emotional needs and
strengthen their skills to become healthy, mindful, empathetic, innovative
self-sufficient citizens and leaders.
In August, with the addition of the inaugural fifth-grade class, the
program will enroll 120 elementary students, totaling the impact of our
education programs to 260 students. The new school will feature 12
classrooms, an arts and science lab, a music and media lab, a rooftop play
area and outdoor learning space, a wellness room, a dining hall with a
restaurant-grade kitchen, and state-of-the-art security and technology.
Upon completion, we will also create 37 full-time jobs in our community.
Our goal is to complete the Capital Campaign by the end of this year.
